Sam Bescoby
After graduating from Bristol University, Sam moved up North to work in mixed practice for a year where he discovered that his interest lay in equine work. He completed an Internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at Liverpool University’s equine teaching hospital and remained there for 4 years as a lecturer and clinician in the University’s equine general practice. With a focus on lameness and dentistry, he was awarded RCVS Certificates in Equine Orthopaedic Surgery and Equine Practice.
In 2013 Sam and his family moved back down to the South West where he continued to grow his dental caseload alongside regular Sports Horse care for a large private practice. This culminated in Sam being awarded an RCVS certificate in Equine Dentistry and qualifying as an Equine Dental Technician.
In 2017 he joined Bristol University’s equine teaching hospital where he has worked for both the first opinion practice and referral hospital. Interests in advanced dentistry and surgery of the equine head have helped grow a dental practice that sees horses referred to Sam from all over the South West and South Wales. He has also enjoyed his work in the equine charity sector.
Helping owners will all aspects of equine care has motivated Sam to return to the road, offering a highly professional service with the latest mobile equipment. In addition to his clinical work, he continues to lecture Veterinary Surgeons and Students in the field of Equine Dentistry and acts as an examiner in the subject for both Veterinary Surgeons and Equine Dental Technicians.
In his spare time, he will be found outdoors with his family and assortment of animals- big and small.
